Run, walk, skate or bike, do you have what it takes to make it though the gauntlet of water at Wet n Wild?
We dare you to try.

wet-n-wild-logo Wet n Wild is an extremely fun 5K run, walk, bike or skate event put on in conjunction with the Smokin on the Pecos, the New Mexico State BBQ competition, at the Eddy County Fair Grounds in Artesia, New Mexico on June 29th. Roads will be blocked and traffic controlled.

Time: Swag bag pickup & late registration starts at 8:45 AM at JC Park, Safety Briefing 9:45 AM, leave JC Park for Fair Grounds at 10 AM
Where: Ride starts from JC Park on 26Th Street in Artesia, New Mexico; down to Fair Grounds Road and then into the Fair Grounds. Both roads are closed during Wet n Wild.
Who: Kids and Adults of all ages (children under 10 years old must be accompanied on ride by an adult).

Participants will start at JC Park at 10 AM and travel 3 – 4 miles to the fair grounds. But it isn’t called Wet n Wild for nothing. Along the way, teams of fire departments and other groups will be doing their best to get you soaked. In fact these teams are competing for the coveted Super Soaker Award which will be given to the team with the most innovative and fun water event along the route.

Ride-for-Bikes-logoAll ages can participate but children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Helmets are required if riding a bike. We encourage you to wear family, friendly, swim suits, shoes you don’t mind getting wet and 2 towels, one for yourself the other for your bike. There will be a bike corral at the BBQ so you can securely store your bicycle and other gear while enjoying the BBQ competition. There will be some limited shuttle service back to JC Park.

Do you want to look outragious? Well thats great too. Put together crazy outfits and see who looks the best/worst. Be the pink bathing cap ladies or the scuba dudes, the wackier the better and the more fun. Just be sure your costume works while running or riding a bike.

If you want to put together a super soaker team contact us.

Cost is $25 per person, the first 150 registered participants will receive a swag bag with a free sports water bottle and first aid kit with the “Wet n Wild” logo and lots of other goodies. You can register at the Artesia Chamber of Commerce, online here or you can fill in the paper registration form with a check made to Ride for Bikes GAF and mail it to Ride for Bikes, 501 East Main Street, Artesia, New Mexico 88210. Swag bags will be given to the first 150 people who register. Come on out, get soaked, enjoy great BBQ, have fun. We dare you.
