Bike Build December 6th

Bicycle Assembly December 6th
Ride for Bikes a 501(c) (3) charity is happy to announce that December 6th will be the big day for assembling and delivering 400 bicycles to children. Just as years in the past we will be assembling the bikes at the Artesia Center on North 8th Street. We invite everyone to come out and lend a hand.

This year marks the ninth year that Ride for Bikes has assembled and delivered bikes to children for Christmas. We have delivered over 4,000 bicycles to children in southeastern New Mexico in that time frame, and it all because of YOU. This year every Kindergartener in Artesia will receive a 20 inch bike.

Ride for Bikes uses the money you donate to purchase the bicycles and to finance the “Ride to Meet the Challenge” scholarship. You make that happen with your donations. Also YOU volunteer to assemble and deliver the bikes. It takes a lot of people working together to assemble and deliver all of these bikes. Check out the pictures on the website and see the people putting bikes together and delivering them to smiling children. These children must earn the bicycle they are not just a gift. Each child must make a Christmas card to be sent to our troops. We feel that it is very important that the children learn how to give something back.

So how can YOU help? You can do any number of things. You can donate money. A small donation of just $50 buys one bicycle for a child. You can volunteer to put together bikes on Saturday December 6th. If you have a covered trailer you can help deliver bikes. You can spread the word to your friends and family to donate and come out to assemble bikes and make it a fun time for all of by doing something good for someone else.

Please donate by clicking the donate button on the website. We can take major credit cards or Pay Pal. Or you can mail a check to Ride for Bikes at P.O. Box 159 Artesia, New Mexico 88210. Checks should be made out to “Ride for Bikes GAF”.

We would really like to see you come out to build bikes on Saturday December 6th at 8 AM at the Artesia Center on North 8th Street. Bring your own tools. But don’t worry if you don’t have tools or don’t know how to put a bike together. We have lots of jobs for everyone including kids. The bike build is a wonderful time for families to work together for someone else.

We look forward to seeing and hearing from you. If you have any questions please email Info@rideforbikes.com.
